He was knocked down by a tipper truck with registration number GR1037- 13 which was carrying sand from Winneba to Kasoa.

The body has been deposited at the Winneba Truma Hospital for autopsy.

The driver, Joseph Annan, 40 years old, has been arrested by the Awutu Senya police and would soon be put before a law court in the area.

Briefing Daily Guide, an eyewitness, Maame Pokuah, said the incident happened at about 7:00 pm at a spot called Washing Bay when the boy attempted to cross the road to see his father who owns a shop across the road.

Maame Pokuah stated that on reaching the place the car knocked and killed him instantly, despite efforts by the driver to apply the brake.

She added that the deceased was a class two pupil at Divine International School at Akrampa near Awutu Breku.

The eyewitness revealed that the deceased had his intestines gush out – a scene that compelled onlookers who could not stand what they saw to break down in tears.
