A young man, Kwaku Owusu has been arrested for allegedly beheading his uncle on his farm at Nkwase, a community in the Nkoransa District in the Brong Ahafo Region.

According to the Brong Ahafo Regional Police Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Mr Christopher Tawiah, at 6.30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 3, 2014, Owusu, a farmer, allegedly killed his uncle, whose name was given only as Kamalia, a palm wine tapper, and deposited the body under a shed on his uncle’s farm.

Owusu is said to have severed the head of the uncle, put it a fertilizer sack and walked 10-kilometres from the crime scene at Nkwase to Nhyiaem to escape arrest.

However he was arrested when he reached Nhyiaem because the residents became suspicious of his movements and his T-shirt which was blood-stained.

After an initial interrogation, the residents arrested him when they found a human head in his fertilizer sack and sent him to the Nkoransa Police Station.

The suspect led the police to the farm where he had kept the remains of his uncle.
