A young man believed to be in his thirties is in the grips of the Agona Nkwanta police after robbing and raping a married woman at knife and gun point at Achowa near Dixcove in the Ahanta west district of the Western Region. The incident occurred on Thursday, December, 18, 2014 around 6pm.
The Husband of the victim who only gave his name as Emma tells www.233times.com the rapist, one Tawiah from Agona Nkwanta who was riding an unregistered Motor bike invaded their house whilst he (the husband) was yet to return from work and the children hadn’t close from School.
According to him, the rapist pulled a gun and knife on the wife, 30, a mother of 4 and a petty Trader, and asked her to surrender any money available in the room for which the victim obliged by giving him GHc60, however the suspect said the amount was too small so either she allowed her to have sex with her or shoot her, a threat the terrified wife complied, and after satisfying himself he rode off . The victim’s shout for help was rather belated as neighbours who came around could not pursue the suspect.
The husband and the wife had gone to lodge a complaint with the Agona Nkwanta police on Friday afternoon when on their way back home they spotted the suspect on the same motor bike and alerted the police leading to his arrest.
He has been remanded in police cells for further investigation.
