Nominations for the party’s primaries will be opened on March 30 2015.

The date for vetting has been set for April 17 and the results of the vetting will be released on 20th and 30th April.

Elections will then be held on May 24.

Meanwhile all aspirants will pay GHC10,000 each as filing fees in the various constituencies.

However young aspirants and female aspirants will pay GHC5,000.

Major changes at the primaries

Only female aspirants will be allowed to contest sitting female Members of Parliament.

According to the NPP, the move is expected to help the party to at least, maintain the 17 NPP female MPs in Parliament.

Meanwhile some constituencies in the Ga communities including Ngleshie Amanfrom, Ledzekuku Krowor, Odododiodoo constituencies will have only indigenous Gas contesting in those areas.

This was confirmed to Citi News by the party’s General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong.

All new aspirants will be made to pay GHC20,000 as development fees but sitting MPs will not pay that amount.

The party explained that the sitting MPs have already contributed to the development and sustenance of the party in many ways during the tenure, hence their exclusion.
