By on

The Police administration has said it will not rule out the possibility of prosecuting some 14 persons including three serving officers who have been implicated in the Special Police Task Force report.

One of the three officers indicted is COP Patrick Timbilla, Director General of Human Resource Development of the Ghana Police Service.

The Special Task Force was set up to investigate the Police recruitment scam that hit the country in February.

Speaking to Citi News, Police Director of Public Affairs, Superintendent Cephas Arthur stated that a docket has already been sent to the Attorney General for advice.

He said: “we have submitted our report to the Police Council which tasked the Police administration to conduct the investigations.”

“…14 individuals including COP Patrick Timbilla and two other Police officers were investigated in connection with the fraud. While having forwarded a copy to the Police Council, we are also processing a docket for onward submission to the Attorney General for advice.”

COP Timbilla was put under house arrest following his alleged involvement in the recruitment scam.

His bank account was subsequently frozen.
