www.233times.com has keenly observed that since July 2014, the Twin City of Ghana, Sekondi-Takoradi, popularly known as the Oil City and now known as ‘Fascinating City’ has given the media absurd stories to feed their audience. The Metropolis has led the country in the best, not so good and unbelievable stories.
The most incomprehensible story in the country since middle part of last year and from a personality in Takoradi is the mysterious disappearance of Theophilous Nii Tagoe aka Castro Underfire who is missing since July 2014. Even though the family, friends and fans of the Artiste are still hopeful that he will return from wherever he is, the media seem to have given up on the story.
Doctor Sulley Ali Gabass, the Effia Nkwanta Hospital Gynecologist has been in the news for 6 months for allegedly sodomizing a student of Achimota Secondary School and giving the student HIV. The media back-to-back covered the story and has not given up on the story as this morning’s news at 6 on Joy FM revealed that, the court will determine the fate of the doctor who is in the remand prison today.
Mikail Hasan, an alumnus of Ghana Secondary Technical School (GSTS) and a resident of East Tanokrom in Sekondi-Takoradi emerged as the overall best student in the 2014 West African Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). Mikaila Hasan was celebrated by the media across the country for making the country proud and as well the region.
The most fascinating of all the stories from the Oil City is the alleged staged kidnap and gang-rape of Ada, a Y FM Presenter who hosts Y Lounge on the radio station for the young and young at heart. Though the police are still investigating, the Ada story didn’t make sense to many from its inception. The pictures of the alleged kidnap and gang-rape were questioned by many people who saw them on Tuesday. Already, people have nicknamed Persis Nana Akosua Apea Antwi, operating in media with a masked name, Adaeze Onyinyechie Ayoka as the Princess of prank.
The Oil City has amazed the country since 2014 with the aforementioned stories.
