The girl, Tiffany Justina Adoma, was first rushed to the Kuntanase Government Hospital and later referred to the St Michael’s Hospital at Pramso, where she died.

When the convoy reached Toamfom, the girl, who had closed from school and was standing by the roadside, crossed the 20-vehicle convoy.

Speaking to the Daily Graphic at the St Michael’s Hospital, the acting Medical Director of the hospital, Dr Samuel Adu, said the girl was rushed to the hospital around 4:15 p.m. with internal bleeding and other complications.

He said a team of medical doctors and other personnel did everything possible to sustain her but lost her after almost one hour of struggle.

The body was deposited at the hospital’s mortuary awaiting autopsy.

The coordinating directors from the Ashanti and Eastern regions were attending the one-week funeral ceremony of their late colleague, Mr Grant Kofi Adomako, at Worakose.

He was the Co-ordinating Director for Lower Manya Krobo.

The District Chief Executive for Bosomtwe, Madam Veronica Antwi-Adjei, confirmed the incident to the Daily Graphic.

She later led a government delegation to meet with the girl’s family and mourn with them.

She assured the family of the assembly’s support towards the burial of the deceased and other matters that might crop up.
