According to Okyeame Quophi, Sarkodie should not distort history with his event, which indirectly is drumming into the minds of young Ghanaians that, he is the first Ghanaian to be on that stage.
The originator of Hiplife, Reggie Rockstone has also clarified that, Okyeame Quophi’s bragging of performing on that stage in 2000 was not an event they (Akyeame) were the headliner but Daddy Lumber was. “It was Lumber’s show, he was the headliner, Akyeame were supporting Artistes but in this, Sarkodie is the headliner, which is remarkable,” Reggie Rockstone said.
Speaking to Nana Kwesi Coomson on Skyy Power FM’s ‘Entertainment Flash’ yesterday, Reggie Rockstone further added that, Okyeame Quophi should allow the new crop of Artistes to do what they are doing because they are doing better.
Reggie Rockstone said Okyeame Quophi’s assertion wasn’t said at the right time and wasn’t said well. Asking him how Okyeame Quophi should have said it, Reggie Rockstone said he shouldn’t have said anything at all, the timing was wrong.
“Maybe the name of the event (History in the making) may have provoked him (Okyeame Quophi) to come out with the clarification” Nana Kwesi Coomson poked Reggie Rockstone and his reply was, “Who tells who how to name their event?” Reggie Rockstone quizzed.
Sarkodie staged History in the Making Concert last week Saturday at the Apollo Theatre in New York and Okyeame Quophi of defunct Akyeame posted on social media that they have been on that stage some 15 years ago so Sarkodie should not distort history.
