Scores of NPP supporters have stormed the Regional police command to demand the release of the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the party, Mr Bernard Antwi Boasiako popularly known Chairman Wontumi.
Chairman Wontumi turned himself in at the Tafo Pankrono Police Command following the invitation of the Ashanti Regional Police with his lawyer for allegedly assaulting the Member of Parliament for Manhyia North constituency, Hon.Collins Owusu Amankwa.
Though, reasons for his current detention is unknown, party faithfuls are demanding his release.
Meanwhile, there is heavy security at the place to prevent any mayhem.
