Nero X who won the most popular song of the year and Highlife Artiste of the year categories said that “I think the Western Music Awards was more of a party than award ceremony because it was long awaited event. So those who came were there to celebrate the stars and legends and also the long awaited awards that centres on Western Region. To me this is the best paid event in Western Region so far.”
Speaking to www.233times.com , Nero X praised the organizers for “finally making it happen and we hope that it becomes better as the years go by. I was very impressed how well organized everything went. I was seriously overwhelmed.”
The maiden edition of the Western Music Awards came off at the Best Western Atlantic Hotel in Takoradi on 29th April, 2017.
