doctorA senior dental surgeon and lecturer at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra has been found dead in a hotel at Dansoman, having reportedly checked in with a lady.

The lady, believed to be his girlfriend and identified only as Sarah, who is said to be in her late 20s, allegedly checked out of the hotel an hour after the doctor, called Dominic Avogo, had died.

Some hotel attendants, who spoke on condition of anonymity with DAILY GUIDE, indicated that the medical doctor often visited the hotel (named withheld) with Sarah.

They said the two often spent close to two hours before checking out anytime they visited the facility.

“Dr Avogo often comes first to book the place after which the lady also follows,” staff of the hotel claimed.

On Thursday, July 6, 2017, at about 5pm, the medical doctor reportedly checked in at the facility and about 30 minutes later, Sarah also arrived; they were there for some time before the lady checked out.

“An hour after the lady had left, we went into the room to find out whether the doctor had also left the room, but when we got there, we saw him lying naked on the bed dead while used condom with sperm inside it lay on the floor,” the staff narrated.

He said they immediately informed the hotel management about the development.

An official report was later lodged with the Dansoman Police, who visited the scene for investigation.

When contacted, ASP Efia Tenge, Accra Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), confirmed that the police had received a report of a man dead in a hotel, adding that they were investigating the matter.

ASP Efia Tenge said, “The police yesterday (Thursday) around 7pm, received a complaint from the management of a hotel in Dansoman that a man checked in with a lady whose name has only been given as Sarah in the evening but later found the man dead in his hotel room after the lady had checked out about an hour after.”

The police, according to ASP Tenge, “did not find marks of assault or violence on the deceased.”

The police have launched a search for that lady to assist in the investigations.

Meanwhile, the body of Dr Dominic Avogo has been deposited at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital mortuary pending autopsy.
