I brought up Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy and Samini – Scooby Fiifi Excellency

“I brought up Shatta Wale, when you bring Shatta here Shatta will tell you, I brought up Shatta Wale, I brought up Stonebwoy, I organized the first reggae dancehall competition, Stonebwoy was first, Shatta Wale was second and I was third. It’s everywhere” Scooby Fiifi Excellency, host of reggae embassy posited on OC Showbiz Review on Skyy Power FM last Saturday (21st October, 2017).

According to Scooby Selah as he is affectionately called by his Western Region fans, he facilitated the cordial relationship between Samini and Shatta Wale when they were having the beef. In his own words “Shatta Wale and Samini talking after all the long beef, it was me. When they were at loggerheads, they respect me, they know I started reggae and dancehall.”

“They (Shatta Wale and Samini) see me as a godfather, they call me Dada and I also handle ‘Reggae embassy’ on Accra platform for five years. I was the one who brought Samini infront of me and I said look Samini I’m going to call Shatta Wale for you today. He’s like ok don’t worry and I spoke to Shatta. Previously I had already spoken to Shatta that look Samini is coming to my show so I’m going to call so that you speak to Samini. He couldn’t have said no because he knows me, he knows Scooby Fiifi Excellency. I run the reggae and dancehall. When reggae and dancehall was dead, we were the ones who were underground bringing it up. Since 2001, 2002 all my songs have been dancehall” Scooby detailed.

“The very first time I spoke to Samini, he jumped. He nearly hit his head to the ceiling, why because he heard from me and they all look up to me. Not to make myself very important, I want you to understand that we’ve paid our dues” Scooby revealed

This answer came up when the host of the award winning weekly OC Showbiz Review Nana Kwame the Master Planner asked him whether other dancehall Artistes including Scooby, a former member of TH4 Kwages look up to Shatta Wale.
