DJ Switch appeals to Prez. Akufo-Addo to set up creative fund in the Western Region

Ghana’s youngest DJ Erica Tandoh popularly known as DJ Switch of Tv3’s talented Kidz fame has appealed to the President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo to set up a creative fund to support musicians in the Western Region.

She made this appeal after a tremendous performance at the second edition of the Western Music Awards which took off on Saturday May 12, 2018 in Takoradi. The event was graced by Kwabena Kwabena, Wutah Kobby, Deputy Minister of Energy, Hon. Joseph Cudjoe, Sammy Flex of Zylofon Media, MUSIGA Vice President Bessa Simons, Paulina Kate Oduro, Uncle Benedict of Tv3 Talented Kids fame amongst others.

It was a colorful ceremony with performances by from Kofi Kinaata, Nero X, Ayesem, Dj Switch, Bobo Dada Bee, Yaw Lucas, Kobby Major, Casta Troy, Scurrybwoy, Ayma, Don Kweli and sensational American singer Tru7h. The ‘fante’ rap ‘god’ Kofi Kinaata for the second time emerged as the Artiste of the year. Speaking after her performance, DJ Switch appealed to the President of Ghana Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo and his government to set up a creative fund to support musicians in the Western Region.

“I would like to use this opportunity to appeal to the President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo to set up a creative fund to support musicians in the Western Region”. She believes this will offer artistes to explore new creative ideas and seek out development opportunities. The Second edition of the Western Music Awards was sponsored by Rigworld Training Center.
