Stephen Siaw, known in Showbiz as Ayesem has categorically stated that he deserved the Artiste of the year at the just ended RTC Western Music Awards which came off at the Best Western Atlantic Hotel on 12th May, 2018.
The close contenders according to social and traditional media commentary in that category (Artiste of the year) were Ayesem and Kofi Kinaata. In his opinion, Ayesem has said that he deserved that award over Kofi Kinaata.
Speaking to Nana Kwesi Coomson on Extensive Chat with NKC, a weekly online TV Show, Ayesem said “If it was about voting then don’t there, I voted massively. That was the category that I had my year groups from Young Christian (Junior High School) and Ghana Secondary Technical School (Senior High School) voting massively for me to win. I think the only thing that he (Kofi Kinaata) did that I didn’t do was headlining his own concert but aside that I deserved the Artiste of the year.”
On record, Ayesem is the Artiste who has won more awards at the Western Music Awards since its inception last year. This year he won Best Hiplife Artiste of the year, Best Video of the year, Most popular Western Region song and Best Collaboration of the year.
