Saudi Arabia Celebrates Its 88th National Day

The Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia commemorated the 88th National Day at the Movenpick Ambassadorial Hotel on September 24, 2018.

The Chargé d’affaires, Dr. Ahmed Al-Dalbahi, in his speech praised the wonderful/ excellent diplomatic relations that has existed between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Ghana for more than five decades. As a result of the relations, the Kingdom is working hard to increase cooperation in various fields, including expanding the volume of trade and economic exchange in accordance with the Kingdom’s future investments plan.

On the issue of terrorism, the charge d’ Affaires noted that, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has taken a firm and strong stance against the phenomenon of terrorism in order to combat it and contain its destructive effects. It has combined its efforts with international efforts to confront this dangerous phenomenon, which can only be fought through international action that ensure its elimination, protects the lives of innocent people and preserves the sovereignty and the stability of states.

Dr. Mustapha Abdul Hamid, Minister for Inner City Zongo Development represented the government of Ghana at the ceremony He talked about the Diplomatic relations that has remained since 1960, the benefits its has received from the Kingdom in various areas such as Energy generation, Harbour rehabilitation , building of Heath facilities. Educational projects directed to the Muslim communities including scholarship to study medicine, pharmacy, Engineering and Veterinary Science in Saudi Arabia.

He spoke about the impressive development and transformation ongoing under the visionary leadership of His Majesty King Salman Abdulaziz and the crown prince Mohammed bin Salman such as the Saudi Vision 2030. He also showed appreciation to His Majesty King Salman, who hosted a high-powered Government delegation led by the Vice President of Ghana.  The government of Ghana affirm its commitment to continue to collaborate the Kingdom and all other peace loving countries to maintain world peace.

Saudi Arabia celebrates its national day on the 23rd day of September each year. It marks the unification of the Kingdom and its establishment by His Majesty King Abdul Aziz bin Abdul Rahman Al Saud. A royal decree was issued to unify all parts of the modern Saudi state under the name of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 23 September 1932.

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud took reign in 23/1/2015 and has since achieved qualitative revival in the Kingdom at various fields with the support of the Crown Prince of the council of Ministers.
